MY STORY
Welcome to Cultivate Wellness Counseling! I am Christina Allard. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addiction Counselor. I am so happy that you are interested in finding wellness in your life. I understand how hard it can be to reach out to see a therapist, and how much courage it takes to ask for help from someone you have not met. Starting therapy can be difficult, and I strive to make the process as comfortable as possible.

I believe that as humans we all can recover from any of our problems and create a thriving life. Sometimes it may feel that to be human is to suffer, and that often we feel there may be no end to the pain. I believe that it is in our suffering that we experience the deepest growth. Navigating through these difficulties takes time, skills, and plenty of room for mistakes.

I specialize in helping people who experience anxiety, depression, emotion regulation difficulties, life transitions and substance misuse. I have a holistic approach to guiding you in healing mind, body and soul.

When meeting with me for therapy, my goal is to cultivate a collaborative relationship based on your goals. The therapeutic relationship is the strongest indicator of success in therapy, and I emphasize creating an empathetic and validating environment.

Each individual’s experience in therapy is unique. My approach includes incorporating coping skills and using the spirit of various approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based approached, solution-focused therapy and motivational interviewing.
MY EDUCATION AND TRAINING
I am a graduate of Regis University with a Master’s of Arts in Counseling. I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient settings. I began my career at an agency assisting people in recovery from substance misuse. Later, I moved to working with individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness. I had the opportunities to have trainings in a wide array of topics, work with a diverse population, and create programs for the people I served.
MY PERSONAL SIDE
I was born and raised in Colorado. I love the opportunities we have for getting outside and connecting with nature. I also enjoy going to concerts, trying new foods, hanging out with my two dogs, spending time with friends and family, and the occasional Netflix binge.
