Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, or DBT, is an evidence-based approach that helps people learn to live in the moment, build healthy coping skills, understand and regulate emotions and improve relationships with others.

DBT is rooted in a philosophical process called dialectics. Put simply, dialectics is allowing two opposites to exist at the same time. The overarching dialectic is between accepting and loving the self and making changes for growth.

DBT can help with
-
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
-
Depression
-
Anxiety
-
Substance misuse
-
Self-Harm
-
Impulsivity
-
Low self-confidence
-
Difficulty focusing

People with concerns about behaviors, emotions and relationships tend to benefit from DBT. If any of the above issues resonate with you, I encourage you to try dialectical behavioral therapy.

DBT has four main sections of skills including mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness and distress tolerance. When using DBT we incorporate the philosophy of dialectics, change ineffective thoughts, beliefs and behaviors, apply new skills and improve your relationships with others in your life and yourself.
